Sutherland Steam Railway October Enthusiasts Day

Length: 5:30
Description: Well it was first planned for early October, then early November and finally it was actually held in late October! The original plan was to run 7 home-based engines and 1-visitor. Unfortunately the visitor became unavailable and due to the colder weather we decided that we might tone the event down a little.(In turns of the amount of locomotives used at least). We then decided on 8-home based engines but this was,in the end, reduced to 6-home based engines. However the day went off very well and in the video we see the first few hours of train operations. The following locomotives took part:- 1)ex-LMS Black 5(MT) 45156 "Ayrshire Yeomanry" 2)LMS Princess Coronation Class 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" 3)ex-GWR King Class 6009 "King Charles II" 4)ex-GWR 0-6-0 57XX Pannier No5775 5)ex-GWR 2-6-2 45XX Small Prairie No4560 6)ex-SR 4-6-2 Battle of Britain 34051 "Winston Churchill" It was also planned to run "Derwent Grange" & Mogul No5328.However,6862 was undergoing a Boiler Washout and 5328 was undergoing her yearly boiler inspection. The sheds were open to the public however where the following engines could be seen today:- 4-6-0 LNER B12 8578 "Prince Palatine" 0-6-0 87XX Pannier No8751 0-6-0 94XX Pannier No9400 0-4-0 Side Tank No9 "Belle" 0-4-0 American Side Tank No256 0-6-0 Class 08 Diesel Shunter The next video may revolve around a more festive event! We don't think we'll be making another vid before late November/early December as we have little time on our hands at the moment with one commitment and another! But at least ONE more video will be made before the end of 2008. (More than likely this will feature Black 5 No45156 on Santa Special duty!). Oh well, enjoy this one for now! :D
